A revival at the International Gospel Lighthouse Church at 99 Lighthouse
Road in the Acton community will conclude Friday, March 12th at
7pm. This revival features evangelist, singer and songwriter Bro. James
McMickin from Jasper, Alabama.
The Green County Stars Little League Baseball travel team will have a
cookout on Friday, March 11th beginning at
9am CT in the Northgate Shopping Center. Pork shoulder or chicken

The 55 Wrangler Band and the Double Nickel are conducting a "Charity
Weight Loss Challenge" to benefit the annual Crusade for Children in
March and April. All band members are participating and encourage fans and
friends to pledge money for each pound lost by an individual member or the
band as a whole. The official "weigh in" will be conducted at
the Double Nickel Friday night, March 12th.
The official "weigh out" will be Friday, May 7th. All proceeds
will be donated to the Campbellsville/Taylor County Fire Department for
Crusade for Children. All donations are tax deductible.
The Taylor County High School Diamond Club is selling Rib Eye sandwiches
at Kroger, in the Green River Plaza, Friday, March

Taylor Regional Hospital will present an American Heart Association Basic
Life Support for Healthcare Provider New and Recertification Course on Friday,
March 12th and Friday, March 19th from 8 - noon. Classes are taught
at the TRH Learning & Resource Center, 125B Kingswood Drive, in
Campbellsville. The cost for the class is $40 (which includes the book).

Liberty Separate Baptist Church in
Greensburg will have a Carnival For Christ March
13th from 4-6 pm ct in the fellowship hall. Game booths, cake
walk, football, basketball, duck pond, Noah's Ark, rainbow pop, leap frog
and more. Tickets to play games are 25 cents or 25/$5.00.
Refreshments will also be served. All proceeds go to The Liberty
Separate Baptist Church Youth Fund.

School Saturday, March 13th with proceeds to benefit the Green County High School

Saloma Baptist Church will have “Student Ministry Sunday” on Sunday,

5K Run/Walk on Saturday, March 27th at

Get rid of your waste tire for FREE with Green County's 2010 Waste Tire
Amnesty Program April 8th, 9th & 10th
from 7:30am - 5pm CT at the State Barn, 521 Columbia Highway. All tires,
including those on rims, will be accepted. Tires not accepted are
foam-filled tires, off-road construction equipment tires and sold tires
with press-on rims. Eligible participants DO NOT INCLUDE tire retailers or
agricultural tire retailers. Salvage yard tres ARE accepted. If you have a
large number of tires (over 1500) call 932-4024 to make special
arrangements. These tires can be picked up on site.
The TC Thunder 10 & Under Softball Traveling Team will have a Bass

FREE INCOME TAX PREPARATION
Free
income tax service is available for Green and surrounding County
residents from the AARP (American Association of Retired Persons)
Foundation Tax-Aide program. The
IRS recognizes this program for
having a high degree of
accuracy on returns filed last year.
Electronic filing will be available free of charge.
Refunds
are directly deposited in 5 to 10 days.
AARP membership is NOT
required for assistance.
Brenda Cook is the Local Coordinator for this program, which is
designed to assist older persons and low to moderate income persons in
completing their income tax forms and informing them of the special
benefits available. The
counselors are retired business people with considerable experience in
tax matters, who are trained and tested by the Internal Revenue Service
to prepare returns for older taxpayers and low income persons.
Past experience has indicated that many of the taxpayers were
unaware of special benefits that they were entitled to claim.
While some may not be required to file because of limited income,
they may need to file in order to take advantage of benefits available
to them.” This year’s
counselors include Bettie Jo Russell, Jolene Turner, and Jo Ann
O’Banion.
AARP tax aide volunteers will prepare taxes on a first-come,
first-serve basis for anyone at their walk-in location each Tuesday from
February 2 through April 13.
