Sheriff’s Office Arrests Man For Allegedly Pointing Gun At Another Person During Verbal Altercation

On Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, at approximately 5:33pm, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office responded to Driftwoods RV Park on Holmes Bend Road.

Adair County 911 Dispatch relayed a report of a man brandishing a handgun and pointing it at another person. 

Upon Deputies arrival the scene was cleared, the handgun was located, and witnesses were separated for interview.  

After a preliminary investigation, it was determined a handgun was brandished during a verbal altercation.

Multiple witness statements corroborated the initial complaint made by the victim. 

Liston Clay Richardson, 26, of Stewart, Tennessee was arrested by investigating officer Deputy Derek Padgett for Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.

Richardson was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.  

Deputy Padgett was assisted on scene by Deputies Brandon Hitch, Josh Durbin, and Joey Burriss.
