Shirldean Carter, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Hub Morris and Alma Morris was born May 8, 1945 in Campbellsville, and departed this life on May 23, 2026. She was 81 years of age.
She was of the Baptist Faith and was retired after working for Fruit of the Loom and Campbellsville Apparel. She lived a simple life and enjoyed working, and being with family.
She is survived by two children: Ann Milby and her husband Ray of Greensburg, and Dale Despain and his wife Rebecca of Campbellsville. Five grandchildren, Scott Underwood (Sarah) of Campbellsville, Jeremiah Despain (Maegan) of Campbellsville, Hayley Darnell (Bradley) of Tennessee, Emily Despain and Ethan Despain both of Campbellsville. Two step-grandchildren, Kristi Milby and Heather Milby, both of Covington, and seven great-grandchildren.
Also, one brother-in-law, Eric Tungate of Campbellsville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, George Lindsey, and one sister Phyllis Tungate.
The family will have a Private Funeral Service on Friday May 29, 2026, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
A public visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM Friday, May 29, 2026, at the funeral home.
