William Earl Henderson

William Earl Henderson of Summersville, Kentucky, son of the late Earl Henderson and Nancy Lewis Young Henderson, was born on Thursday, March 12, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky and passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at his home. He was 88 years, 2 months, 11 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of Summersville Baptist Church, and served as a deacon for 50 plus years. He enjoyed being active in the church along with being a Sunday School teacher for many years. He was also a member of the William B. Allen Masonic Lodge #704 and worked as a farmer.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Annabelle Akin Henderson on November 3, 2020, having united in marriage on December 27, 1954.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law: Earl Young “EY” and Andi Henderson of Summersville, Jack and Darlene Henderson of Greensburg, Thomas and Kelli Henderson of the Gabe Community, John and Katie Henderson of Greensburg; seven grandchildren: James and Whitney Henderson, Marcia and Trey Kamer, Casey and Chris Lay, Clint Henderson, Corey and Michael Samples, Joey Henderson, Rachel Henderson; seven great-grandchildren: Noah, Gracie, Aubree, Morgan, Campbell, Atlee, Cooper; a sister-in-law: Judy Ferrell; nieces and nephews: Lela Ann Krol, Earl Ray Hedgespeth, Gene Lewis Hedgespeth; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren: Carly Henderson, Luke Henderson; and a sister: Betty Jean Wilcoxson.

The funeral services for William Earl Henderson will be conducted at 1 P.M., central Time, Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Summersville Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Bro. Mike Akridge and Bro. Daniel Marcum officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4 until 8 P.M., Central Time, Friday, May 24, 2024 at the Summersville Baptist Church and after 7 A.M., Central Time, Saturday until time of the service. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Wilson Cemetery Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
