On December 23, 2025, at approximately 23:47 hours on Tuesday night, the Columbia Adair County Fire Department was dispatched under an Automatic Mutual Aid agreement with the Breeding Fire Department to 2909 Bird Road following a report of a structure fire.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they encountered a one-story residential structure with a basement that had heavy fire conditions showing. Firefighters immediately initiated an offensive attack on the fire, an effort that successfully brought the fire under control. Afterward, crews conducted overhaul operations throughout the structure and were able to contain the fire to the original structure.
A total of 11 firefighters were on scene for approximately two and a half hours.
Assisting agencies included the Adair County E911 Center, Adair County Ambulance Service, Taylor County RECC, and the Kentucky Red Cross.
