Betty Jo Merideth Phelps

Betty Jo Merideth Phelps was born July 22, 1940, in Warren County, KY, to the late Henry Merideth and Delfa Grimes Merideth. She departed this life on Saturday December 9, 2023, at Signature Healthcare in Horse Cave, KY, having attained the age of eighty-three years, four months, and eighteen days of age.

     She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Iva Baptist Church. She was a loving wife to Denver D. Phelps who survives, being wed in July of 1955. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

     Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons: David Michael and Timothy Ray Phelps, one sister: Shirley Honeycutt, and two grandchildren: Barry W. and Marcus E. Phelps.        

     Betty Jo is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Barry and Mary Phelps of Cave City, KY, three daughters and one son-in-law: Kathy L. Beckham, Teri A. Fulcher of Bowling Green, KY, and Velma and Kevin Cowles of Cave City, KY.; one daughter-in-law Betty Walkup Phelps of Auburn, KY; one brother: Henry R. Merideth, several grand-children, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, plus a host of other relatives and friends. 

     Funeral services for Betty Jo Merideth Phelps will be at 2 p.m. Central Time Saturday, December 16, 2023, at The Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Horse Cave, KY. with Bro. Bobby Neal and Bro. Johnny Deakins officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

     Visitation will held be from 11 a.m. central time until the time of the funeral service on Saturday December 16, 2023, at the church.

     The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to Foster Toler Curry Funeral home for funeral expenses. These can be made at the church or at Foster Toler Curry Funeral Home.
