Campbellsville Woman Arrested, Facing Multiple Charges After Vehicle Strikes Pedestrian Then Structure

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at approximately 8:16 p.m., Campbellsville Police responded to reports of a vehicle vs structure at 213 Hillview Ct. Officers arrived on scene to find a vehicle partially into the structure. Through investigation officers determined 30-year old Melanie Bostic of Campbellsville was operating a blue 2004 Chevy Silverado westbound on Handley Ave when she left the roadway, overcorrected and struck a pedestrian, 18-year old Spencer Bates of Campbellsville. Bostic’s vehicle continued westbound on Handley Ave striking a utility pole before coming to rest in the front of the residents of 213 Hillview Ct. 

Bostic and three juvenile passengers were all transported to Taylor Regional Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Bates, the pedestrian, refused medical treatment on the scene. After Bostic was treated and released from Taylor Regional Hospital, she was arrested and lodged in the Taylor County Jail on the following:

BOOSTER SEAT VIOLATIONS 

CRIMINAL MISC 1ST 

WANTON ENDANGERMENT 1ST 

ASSAULT 4TH (MINOR INJURY) 

FAILURE OF NON OWNER TO MAINTAIN INSURANCE
