On Thursday, May 29th, 2025, at approximately 12:43 AM, Columbia Police Department Officer Elliot Smith was conducting a routine patrol when he observed individuals with active warrants walking near the Bomar Heights area. After watching them enter a nearby business, Officer Smith approached the establishment and made contact with both the employees and the individuals in question.
Rebecca Thrower, 35, of Columbia, Kentucky, was taken into custody for an outstanding felony warrant. Officer Smith also encountered Travis D. Crew, 41, of Columbia, Kentucky, inside the business. Crew was arrested for three outstanding warrants and was additionally charged with Disorderly Conduct in the 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Providing False Identifying Information to an Officer. During the arrest process, Thrower fled the scene on foot.
Later that morning, on May 29, 2025, at approximately 10:34 AM, Adair County Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Roy encountered three individuals near Russell Creek, just off West Barbee Street in Columbia, Kentucky. Deputy Roy identified one of them as Rebecca Thrower. While attempting to arrest her, Thrower resisted and assaulted Deputy Roy. During the incident, Deputy Roy observed her throw an object under a nearby vehicle. After securing Thrower in custody, Deputy Roy recovered the object, which was found to contain various drugs, including approximately 24 grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
