Columbia, Kentucky (November 12th, 2025) – The Columbia Police Department responded to a call at the Family Dollar parking lot on Wednesday afternoon, after receiving a report of a male subject passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:05 p.m., where they made contact with Troy D. Petty, 40, of Columbia, Kentucky. Following an investigation, Petty was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:
•Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol (.08), 1st Offense
•Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
•Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
Sergeant Trevor Foster was the arresting officer and was assisted at the scene by Officer Nathan Ginn and Adair County Sheriff’s Deputy Derek Padgett.
