Dragons Deliver Standout Performances at KHSAA Indoor State Championship

Green County Track & Field turned in an outstanding performance at the KHSAA Indoor State Championship, bringing home multiple podium finishes and showcasing the strength and depth of the Dragons’ program on the state stage.

Leading the way were two state runner-up finishes. Darius Anderson earned second place in the Triple Jump, while Cayden Cecil claimed runner-up honors in the Pole Vault. Carly Goff also stood atop the podium with a second-place finish in the Girls High Jump, adding to an already impressive day for the Lady Dragons.

The Boys 4×800-meter relay team of Layton Froggett, Cayden Cecil, Xander Lobb, and Cody Swary delivered a strong performance to secure a third-place finish.

Avery Warf cleared her way to a fourth-place finish in the Girls High Jump, while Scout Brockman added a fourth-place finish in the Girls Shot Put. Carly Goff also contributed a sixth-place finish in the Girls Long Jump, highlighting her versatility across multiple events.

Green County’s relay teams continued to make their mark. The Boys 4×200-meter relay team of Jameson Hines, Darius Anderson, Joseph Matthews, and Larson Matney earned seventh place. The 4×400-meter relay team of Larson Matney, Jameson Hines, Cody Swary, and Joseph Matthews secured an eighth-place podium finish.

Individually, Riley Coffey captured eighth place in the 3200-meter run, and Jameson Hines added another podium finish with eighth place in the 200-meter dash.

With multiple athletes reaching the podium across running, jumping, and field events, Green County demonstrated its depth, talent, and competitive drive.
