Free Caregiver And Grief Support Programs Available In Adair and Taylor Counties

Hosparus Health Green River offers free programs to help community members care for themselves while caring for others.

(CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY) — Being a caregiver for someone living with serious illness is a meaningful role—but it can also be isolating and overwhelming. To support caregivers and others coping with grief and loss, Hosparus Health Green River is offering a wide range of free and low-cost support groups in Adair and Taylor counties and across the region.

Monthly Caregiver Support Groups

These monthly gatherings offer connection, fellowship, lunch, and helpful resources in a welcoming setting. Open to anyone serving as a caregiver for someone with a serious or chronic illness.

Adair County: Every 2nd Wednesday | 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CT

This series is offered in partnership with the Lake Cumberland Area Development District, your local county extension offices, Encompass Health, and Hosparus Health Green River.

“Caregiving takes strength—but no one should feel like they have to do it alone,” says Christy Morris, LCSW, MSW, grief counselor with Hosparus Health Green River. “We’re here to help caregivers find community, build resilience, and make space for their own healing.”

Grief Support for All Ages

In addition to caregiver support, Hosparus Health Green River offers ongoing grief programs throughout the summer and fall for individuals and families navigating loss. Licensed counselors provide up to 13 months of grief support at no cost to families of hospice patients. Community members not enrolled in hospice can access counseling through insurance, a sliding fee scale, or financial assistance for those who qualify.

Friday Reading Circle For children ages 5–10. Stories, snacks, conversation, and activities. Meets: July 25 and August 22 Time: 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. ET Location: Taylor County Public Library, 1316 E. Broadway St, Campbellsville

Healing Hands A creative grief support group for anyone ages 12+. Meets: July 8 and August 12 Time: 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. ET Location: Taylor County Public Library, 1316 E. Broadway St, Campbellsville

Wandering Through Grief Walking Groups Reflect and connect in nature. For ages 8+ with adult supervision. Meets: September 12 and December 5 Time: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. ET Locations: September 12 – Taylor Fork Trail, Leitchfield, KY December 5 – Freeman Lake, Elizabethtown, KY

Camp Evergreen A weekend retreat for grieving families with children ages 6–18. Meets: October 10–12, 2025 Location: Loucon Training and Retreat Center, Leitchfield, KY Transportation available from New Albany, Louisville, and Elizabethtown

Spouse Loss Group Peer-centered support for individuals grieving the death of a spouse or partner. Meets: First and third Tuesdays monthly Time: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. ET Location: Hosparus Health Green River, 462 N. Bypass Rd, Campbellsville

Grief Connection (Virtual)
Online support group for adults grieving the loss of someone significant. Meets: Second and fourth Thursdays monthly Time: 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. ET Link provided after registration

Young Adult Grief Connection (Virtual) A virtual space for adults ages 18–35 navigating grief. Meets: First and third Tuesdays monthly Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. ET Link provided after registration
