Jasper Clymer was born June 30, 1947, in Hart County, KY to the late Willis Tucker Clymer and Louvinia Bryant Clymer. He departed this life Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at his home having attained the age of seventy-six years, nine months, and sixteen days.
Jasper was loved by many and had a servant’s heart. He always said it was His honor to help others and He received the blessings from doing so. He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a devoted member of Plentitude Baptist Church. He was ordained as a deacon on Mother’s Day, May 10, 1987. He also served at Macedonia Baptist Church while living in KY, and at Wheeler Heights Baptist Church from 1987 through 1998 where assisting in serving The Lord’s Supper was important to him.
Jasper was employed at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corp for 32 years. Alongside his work, he loved to bowl, golf, and refinish furniture. He was also a supporter and fan of KY basketball.
Jasper currently resided in Gray, Georgia with his devoted wife of 53 years who survives: Zora Davis Clymer; Other survivors include: two sons; ; Troy Clymer and wife Christol of Gray, Georgia; Bruce Clymer of Chattanooga, TN; two grandchildren: Natalie and Cutler Clymer; one sister: Virginia Robertson of Greensburg, KY; two special young people who affectionately called him “Pa”: Abby Hogan and Chase Sharpe; plus a host of nephews, nieces, and a multitude of other beloved family and friends. In his final months, Jasper was cared for by his friend and nurse, Dawn Johnson, and Chaplain Brad Blackmon. Their compassionate support provided comfort and solace to Jasper and his family.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Eugene and Harvey Clymer.
Funeral Services for Jasper Clymer will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Foster Toler Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY at 1pm central time being officiated by Bro. Brad Davis, with burial to follow in the Whickerville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, from 6pm-9pm central time at the Funeral Home and beginning at 7am on Saturday until time of the funeral service.
