Jimmie Knifley of Campbellsville, son of the late Gilbert Knifley and Cecil Bryant Knifley, was born July 2, 1938 in Taylor County, Kentucky.
He died at 2:05 P.M., Friday, March 14, 2025 in Campbellsville. Age 86.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mannsville Christian Church.
Jimmie graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in theology from Cincinnati Bible Seminary. Afterward, he served as a local minister and was one of the church planters of Mannsville Christian Church and Greensburg Christian Church. He was also actively involved in Men for Christ for about fifty years.
He united in marriage to Monnie Kay Calhoun June 30, 1960. Besides his wife, Monnie Knifley of Campbellsville, Jimmie is survived by one son and one daughter: Bart Knifley and wife, Tami of Miamisburg, Ohio and Lyric Shields and husband, Dan of Joplin, Missouri; three grandchildren: Sarah Knifley of Miamisburg, Ohio, Elliott Cohea of Centerville, Ohio, and Blake Cohea and wife, Elizabeth of Lexington; three great-grandchildren: Makaiah Cohea, Beaux Cohea, and Shepard Cohea; three brothers and one sister: Leroy Knifley, Bobby Knifley and wife, Sue Ellen, and Lowell Knifley and wife, Shirley of Campbellsville, and Carol McKinley of Danville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Jimmie was also preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Knifley and a brother, Russell Knifley.
