Joe Jackson Feltner

June 4, 1932  –  May 18, 2026

Joe Jackson Feltner, son of the late Elihu Feltner and America Parker Feltner, was born on Saturday, June 4, 1932 in Leslie County, Kentucky and departed this life on Monday, May 18, 2026 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 93 years, 11 months, and 14 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Green County Church of Christ. He was a coal miner in Eastern, Kentucky, last working for Whitaker Coal Company.

He united in marriage to Florence Messer Feltner on January 28, 1995 who survives.

Also survived by four children: Sylvester Feltner of Tennessee, Marilyn Feltner, Carolyn Record both of Hyden, Kentucky and Vicky and Charles Bailey of Campbellsville; two sisters and a brother: Leona Bridges of Ohio, Willie Feltner of Hyden, and Alice Bridges of Ohio; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; grandchildren locally: Marshall and Rachel Mills of Greensburg, Jessica Lynn Bailey Olney and her husband, Chris of Goshen, and John Kyle Bailey of Campbellsville.

He was also preceded in death by two sons and a daughter: Jimmy Feltner and Billy Ray Feltner; a daughter: Teresa Standifer; a stepson: Tony Stidham; and a adopted son: Billy Joe Feltner.

Honoring Mr. Feltner’s wishes, cremation was chosen. There will be a Celebration of Life for Joe Jackson Feltner at 12:00 PM, Friday, May 22, 2026 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral with a memorial visitation starting at 9:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.

A Celebration service will also be conducted at Confluence Baptist Church in Confluence, Kentucky at a later date.
