K-Country Showdown Registration

I have read the KCountry Showdown rules and by signing below, understand and accept the terms of eligibility and all the contest rules. I also understand the 2024 KCountry Showdown is only a local event and not affiliated with any other company, and no additional opportunities for advancement are available in 2024.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Complete this form and return it to the KCountry Radio Station (50 Friendship Pike, Campbellsville, KY 42718) or email it to Denise Gilpin at begilpin@forchtbroadcasting.com along with your demo (can be CD, mp3, YouTube Video, etc.) and your $20 entry fee. Make checks payable to WGRK-FM or you can pay online at forchtbroadcasting.com. Make sure to type KCountry Showdown in the Note Section if paying online.

2. KCountry Showdown will be limited to 13 performers. If you are not chosen, you will receive a refund and will continue to be eligible in the future. Winners of past Showdowns are not eligible to compete.

3. Each contestant will perform two songs the day of the competition. One song will be performed prior to intermission and the second song after intermission.

4. Each contestant is responsible for their own music. Pre-recorded music must be submitted to KCountry no later than Friday, June 21, 2024. Failure to do so may result in ineligibility to perform.

5. Each contestant will be judged by a panel of three judges on each of their 2 songs and given a total score for both songs.

6. Contestants will have the option to play their own instrument while performing their songs.

7. No “same” song will be performed by more than one contestant. (Entry forms will be dated when they are turned in. If there is more than one contestant with the same song, the contestant who registers first will have the option to perform that song.) Song choices may not be changed from point of selection to the day of performance.

8. You are considered registered once registration form and payment have been received.

9. No back-up vocals are allowed. This includes vocals on the soundtrack.

10. First round performance order, will be in reverse order of registration receipt. (ie - The first person to submit entry form will be last and the last person will be first). Second round performance order will be determined by random drawing the day of the Showdown.

11. All performances must be done in good taste: any music or lyrics that WGRK-FM, KCountry 105.7 considers offensive may not be performed.

12. Contestants may perform their own music and may receive extra bonus points from the judges. Music eligible for bonus points will be defined as any piece of music written or co-written by the contestant (either individual or member of the group). If asked, contestants must be able to provide acceptable documentation to prove ownership of their music.

13. Contestants may also receive extra bonus points, from the judges, for their instrumental abilities.

14. Performances will be awarded 1-10 points in each of the following categories:

1) Vocal Ability

2) Showmanship

3) Stage Presence (poise, comfort on stage, eye contact, etc)

15. In the event of a tie, the first tie-breaker shall be the highest number of points given in the Vocal Ability Category. The second tie-breaker shall be the highest number of points awarded in the Showmanship Category. The third tie-breaker shall be by secret vote of the judges based on overall performance, style and impact.

16. No one employed by Forcht Broadcasting or their family members are eligible to enter.
