The Green County Lady Dragons are headed to the championship game of the 18th District Tournament after rolling to a 70-point performance in the opening round, securing a statement win and a spot in Friday night’s title matchup.
Green County showcased a balanced offensive attack and controlled the game from start to finish, shooting 38.5 percent from the field while knocking down 15-of-21 free throws. The Lady Dragons also dominated the glass, pulling down 51 rebounds to fuel their transition game and create second-chance opportunities.
Scout Brockman led the charge with a game-high 20 points, going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line and hauling in a remarkable 18 rebounds to anchor Green County on both ends of the floor. Chloe Fortner followed closely with 18 points and eight rebounds, consistently finishing inside and applying pressure in the paint.
Brooklyn Jewell provided a spark from beyond the arc, hitting two three-pointers on her way to eight points, while Rebekaha Pruitt was flawless from the field, knocking down all three of her attempts for six points. Parker Hodges added five points, including a three-pointer, and Kylee Hargan chipped in five more with a shot from long range.
Green County finished with five three-pointers and showed depth throughout the lineup, as multiple players contributed scoring and rebounding efforts. Lydia Corbin and Isabella Clopton each added key baskets, while Baylee Bishop rounded out the scoring for the Lady Dragons.
With the win, Green County advances to Friday night’s championship game, where the Lady Dragons will face the LaRue County Lady Hawks with a district title on the line.
