Lillie Belle Skaggs, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Rev. Sylvester Chaney “SC” Johnson and Betty Laura (Hedgespeth) Johnson was born August 2, 1943 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at her home. She was 82 years of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was an active member of the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church, and was a retired lab technician for the Taylor County Health Department. After retirement, she worked in the deli at the All-Star Food Mart and Truck Stop.
She enjoyed a good conversation, cooking, and traveling with her brother Jesse.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Willard Jackson Skaggs; three sisters: Nova Cook, Daisy Mae Johnson, and Mayme Shofner; and a granddaughter: Nicole Skaggs.
Survivors include a son: Perry Skaggs and wife Tracy of Mannsville; a daughter: Gina Skaggs and husband Mike Cecil of Campbellsville.
Two grandchildren: Teri Hayden and husband Andy and Chaney Richardson and wife Teresa, and five great-grandchildren.
A brother: Jesse Johnson of Simpsonville,
And a host of other relatives and friends.
Lillie chose cremation, and at her request, no services are scheduled.
