Mayor Hoots Visits With Rogers Scholars

On Monday, July 14th Columbia Mayor Pamela Hoots and Trey Stephens had the honor of hosting 58 Rogers Scholar Students studying at Lindsey Wilson University. The Rogers Scholar program is The Center for Rural Development’s flagship youth program.

The program is a week long where scholars work on building their leadership skills, participate in a series of team-building exercises; receive hands-on instructional training from professional experts in engineering, healthcare, and video production; and interact with nationally recognized business leaders and entrepreneurs.

The Mayor spoke to the scholars about growth in Columbia, entrepreneurship, civic involvement, intergovernmental cooperation, and then answered questions on a variety of subjects.
