Mrs. Nancy Louise Dewitt of Campbellsville, daughter on the late Elzie and Kathleen (Ramsey) Followell, was born in Lebanon on December 18, 1947. She departed this life on Friday, May 22, 2026, at her home, being 78 years of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a devout member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church. She retired from Walmart, where she had spent the majority of her career helping meet the needs of her customers. She united in marriage to Mr. Earl Nathan Dewitt on May 4, 1990, and together, they shared 45 years of marriage.
She leaves to cherish her memory:
Her husband: Nathan Dewitt,
Two children: David Williams and Tracy Pettit,
Seven siblings: Juanite Followell, Mary Allen, Glenda Shoopman, Eunice Miller, Rachell Long, Foster Followell, and Robert Followell,
Two grandchildren: Casey Marlow and wife Brook, and Courtney Brookman and husband Craig,
Two great-grandchildren: Corbin and Carson Brookman,
And a host of other family members and friends.
Mrs. Dewitt was also preceded in death by a son: Kevin Williams; and four siblings: Dorothy Cox, Margie Richards, Edna Shreve, and James Followell.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Dewitt on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Jimmy York will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 26, from 10:00 AM until time for the service.
