Frankfort, Kentucky (April 21, 2026) – State Representative Amy Neighbors and State Senate Majority Floor Leader Max Wise shared the following after yesterday’s deadly incident that ended in the deaths of four Adair Countians:
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of life in Adair County. What unfolded yesterday is a devastating reminder of how quickly violence can shatter families and communities, leaving behind grief that is difficult to put into words.
“In the face of such unimaginable loss, we find great encouragement in the way the Adair County community has responded, coming together in support of one another, lifting up those affected in prayer, and demonstrating the strength and compassion that define our Commonwealth in difficult times.
“We are especially grateful for the courage and professionalism of our law enforcement officers and first responders who answered the call. Situations like this are unpredictable and dangerous, yet they ran toward that danger to secure the scene, protect others, and bring the situation to a close. Their service does not go unnoticed.
“As more details become available, we will continue to keep the victims, their loved ones, and the entire community in our thoughts and prayers. In moments like these, we are reminded of the importance of looking out for one another, supporting those in need, and standing united in the face of tragedy.”
