Senator Wise Encourages Constituent Engagement Ahead Of 2026 Legislative Session

Provides details on how to receive legislative updates; share thoughts with lawmakers.

FRANKFORT, KY. (Dec. 29, 2025)—As the Constitution of Kentucky calls for convening the 2026 Legislative Session on Tuesday, January 6, in Frankfort, Sen. Max Wise, R-Campbellsville, of the 16th Senate District, urges constituents to stay informed and engaged in the legislative process. The 2026 Legislative Session is a constitutionally required 60-day budget session, in which lawmakers will be required to implement a new two-year state spending and road plan.

“I consider myself incredibly fortunate to enter my second session as Senate Majority Floor Leader, and remain blessed and grateful for residents of the 16th Senate District who have entrusted me to serve them in Frankfort,” Wise said. “We have a challenging session ahead of us, and the primary focus must be a continued disciplined, responsible, and smart investment of taxpayer dollars.”

“I’m not entering the session with any concerns because over my time in the state Senate, I’ve come to know that we have some incredible people who were called to serve, and they do so with their own respective expertise,” Wise added. That’s certainly true regarding our Senate Budget chairman, Chris McDaniel, and our Senate Transportation Chairman Jimmy Higdon, so I know that with their leadership, and the work of our entire caucus and excellent legislative staff, we will leave the 2026 Legislative Session with more to celebrate as Kentuckians.
