Theodore James Anderson, 94, passed away at his home in Campbellsville, Kentucky Sunday April 26, 2024. Ted was born April 13, 1932 to Anders Peter Anderson, Sr. and Hazel Stockdale Anderson in Norwich, Connecticut.
He was a proud veteran having served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was also stationed in the Panama Canal. He worked for the Electric Boat Company in Groton CT as a computer programmer before entering the construction industry. He was a builder and remodeler for most of his life in Connecticut and then Lexington Kentucky and retired to Washington County where he built his own home along with his wife Shirley who predeceased him in 2012.
He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Freedom Baptist Church in the Cardwell Community of Washington County.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his four children, Doreen Anderson Cohen who passed earlier this year as well as his oldest daughter Katrina Rose Anderson who predeceased him on July 7, 1977.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter: Kris Ronald Anderson of Petaluma, California, Kerstin Andrenna Doreen Anderson of Plainfield, Connecticut and Kirk Joseph (Amy) Anderson of Campbellsville, Kentucky. His also survived by stepsons Marshall (Laura) Wilson of Nicholasville and Bob (Sharon) Wilson of Lexington along with several grandchildren.
Ted chose cremation and has requested that there be no services. If you are looking for a way to honor his memory, visit the Red River Gorge in Eastern Kentucky or the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary in Fayette County for a hike or listen to an “old scratchy record”, enjoy a good story or a game of Rook with someone special to you.
