Ruby Christine Burress Wise of Elk Horn, KY, the daughter of the late Lloyd Clifton and Molly Seaborne Burress, was born on May 20, 1933 and departed this life on her 93rd birthday at the Taylor Regional Hospital.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Feathersburg Church of God. She was a Homemaker, loved to dance and listen to music. She also loved talking on the phone, bird watching, and just sitting and rocking.
She is survived by four children, Judy Forrest and husband James of Elk Horn, Mary Cox and her Fiancé Greg Farmer of Elk Horn, Harold Wise and his wife Dianna of Russell Springs, and Jason Wise of Elk Horn. 12 grandchildren; Tammy Mackie (Robbie), Christina Mackie (Jamin), Justin Cox (Anne) Erica Cox and Fiancé Joe Ewing, Stephanie Wise, Hannah Jones (Weston), Matt Wise (Chloe), Jacob Wise (Morgan), Parker Reid, Makayla Reid, Christian Wise, and Brock Wise. also, a host of great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. One sister Loretta Gaddis of Elk Horn, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Haskell Wise on Dec. 9, 1990. Two children, Billy Ray Wise and Larry Keith Wise. Also, her siblings, Edna Herron, Lily Woodrum, Shirley Chelf, Harold Bo Burress, Wallace “Lester Dick” Burress, Bobby Burress, and Tommy Burress.
The funeral Service for Ruby Christine Burress Wise will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the L.R. Petty Funeral home with burial to follow in the Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Bro. Richie Carroll will officiate.
Visitation from 5 – 8 PM on Tuesday May 26, 2026 at the funeral home.
